Microsoft’s AI-powered Bing and Edge have been making waves in the search engine market since their release just over a month ago. The company has been listening closely to user feedback and making improvements to the search experience, resulting in significant growth in daily active users of Bing.
Microsoft has announced that Bing has crossed the milestone of 100 million daily active users, a notable achievement for the search engine. While the company acknowledges that it remains a small player in the market, they are pleased to be seeing growth in engagement and usage.
One-third of daily preview users are new to Bing, indicating that the new features and improvements have been successful in attracting new users. Additionally, engagement is growing as more people are conducting more searches daily.
The integrated Search + Chat experience has proven valuable, with roughly one-third of daily preview users using Chat daily. On average, users are engaging in roughly three chats per session, with over 45 million total chats since the preview began. Fifteen percent of Chat sessions involve users generating new content, extending the search to creativity.
Mobile usage has also seen a significant increase with the release of the new Bing Mobile app, resulting in a 6x increase in daily active users from pre-launch levels. On mobile devices, Answers, and Chat, now with voice input, are much more helpful, providing an improved search experience.
Microsoft is committed to continuing to iterate and improve Bing and Edge, delivering the next generation of search and hoping to become users’ trusted copilot for the web. As the search engine market continues to evolve, Microsoft’s focus on innovation and user feedback may prove to be a winning combination.
